Laura Elizabeth Hohertz (nee Osborne) was the third child born to young parents living in Whitechurch, Ontario. Laura moved across southwestern Ontario and Northern Manitoba with her family and eventually settled in Toronto. With a keen interest in helping people, Laura began to build her career in the fundraising sector, and spent over 15 years at the United Way Greater Toronto, ending in the role of a Senior Philanthropy Officer. Laura had a beautiful heart and invested significantly in her relationships. She left her mark on many lives- through her acts of kindness, her sense of humour, her integrity, her passion and her dedication. She leaves behind wonderful friendships (many of which began at United Way!). She was the love of Joe Hohertz's life; loving mother to Nathaniel and stepmother to Holly; treasured sister of Bethany, Anna and Nathan; beloved cousin of Zetta, Karyn, Juli, Steph, Emma, Lydia, Rob, Kaz, Heather, Morgan and their children; daughter of Faith Holwyn; daughter-in law of Beth and Heinz Hohertz; sister-in-law to Ed, Beth, Megan, Sean, Jeremy, Lisa, and Eric; special aunt to Kodie, Abby, Lucy, Liam, Anna and Evan; and niece to Fran, Phil, Carol, D'thea, Maureen, Ruthie, Janice, Martin and Marg. Laura leaves many empty spaces that will be difficult to fill in the lives of those she loved. She was a bright and shining star whose light graced the earth for too short a time.
